The only sound you hear when you wake up and open the apartment's balcony windows is the sound of the water trickling in the swimming pool.

A lovely, peaceful, well-appointed, tastefully furnished and well-equipped apartment from which to explore the delights of the area. You overlook the pool from the balcony and have a fantastic view of the sea and the surrounding area. There is so much to do and to see - it is an ideal base.

We visited Gibraltar and went on the amazing Dolphin Safari, walked around Casares after a lovely drive up through the wind turbines, and strolled along the promenade at Duquesa where there are plenty of eateries to choose from to suit your purse. We also went to Sotogrande to view the yachts and had a lovely meal. The last night we visited one of the beach bars mentioned in the book the owners have put together for apartment visitors and kicked ourselves we hadn't visited it earlier!

There are plenty of supermarkets nearby so it's easy to eat in if you wish and the TV and DVD player - especially if you have children - are useful to escape the mid-day heat if you need to.

We would definitely recommend it.

Summer holiday with the kids

This was a good holiday with two young children (4 and 6) who loved the beaches and pool.

The flat was a good size with all the facilities (air con, TV with UK channels, DVD player). The local beaches are a mix of stone and sand and most have a really good beach bar that offer nice local food (fresh grilled fish etc). The beaches are not over developed and are very natural (no jet ski hire or large resort hotels).

We also did day trips out to Gibraltar, Tarifa, mountain villages (Casares and Ronda) and the local water park. So there is more to do than just the beach, though the pool is a welcome relief after a day out.

We stayed at the apartment in May 2010 and was pleasantly surprised how well appointed it was. We had a lovely view over the fields and the coast. Each morning the sky and sea looked so blue that we were able to enjoy breakfast on the balcony feeling that we were so close to the coast. The coast road took us south towards Gibraltar and on to the most southly point on the spanish mainland Tarifa , it was certainly worth a visit. Whether for the town and its many restaurants or the sandy beaches and powerful waves there was something for all the family.
In the other direction going north Estepona was not far away we enjoyed a couple of days just wandering through the back streets and mixing with the locals. Further a field for us was a day trip to Ronda, we took the main road from the coast, then up the mountain road , again the ride was well worth it for the town had spendid views of the countryside and a lot of history. We were able to find a little restaurant that made the traditional tapas just tucked away in a square off the main road. The food was delicious.
Southern Spain was a new experience for us and Puerto Duquesa just a few minutes by car had enough choice in Bars and Restaurants that you could try a different each day. The waiters and owners at all the restaurants we ate in were especially helpful and spoke very good english, so there was never a problem.
Sometimes we ate in the apartment, it was fairly easy to do that as there were a couple of good supermarkets not far away that had some excellant local produce at reasonable prices. The kitchen was well equipped, pletly of room to store the wine, so it was nice to end the day just sipping your wine watching the sun go down.
It's worth a visit !!.

What a lovely apartment!! July, 2009
We stayed at Hacienda Guadalupe for a week at the end of July. We had a wonderful time. The apartment was fabulous and was absolutely spotless! Everything in the apartment was of the highest standard. The location was excellent. Having the benefit of a constant sea breeze was wonderful.

We visited Tarifa, and from there went onto Morocco which was amazing, if your interesting in buying leather you can pick up a bargain, be prepared to barter. The kids went to the new water park in Algeciras which they loved, Close by in Manilva we have the Roman Baths spa, where you can cover yourself with mud and then swim in the caves which was an amazing experience - and whats better it was free!! Puerto Banus, Soto Grande and not forgetting Duquesa which we went to with its beautiful marina and great variety of restaurants for every taste. Well what else can I say except thank you to Ed & Becky who own the apartment. If you are looking for a relaxing self catering holiday then Hacienda Guadalupe is the place for you. I would highly recommend this apartment! Dorcas & Dagma from Seattle

Good times!

Sunbathing by the pool, drinking champagne on the Balcony and waking up to the view of the sun shimmering on the sea. This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment is extremely well appointed with everything you will need for a luxurious stay in Southern Spain.

The location is very quiet and away from the noise and traffic of nearby towns and yet the beach is just a 10 minute walk away. It is very secure for both parking and access to the apartment and has subtle fencing enclosing the swimming pool, a benefit to those with young children.

In our opinion the apartment was better than described and was spotlessly clean with obviously new appliances and furniture.

If you are looking for a cosy, comfortable bolthole to either relax or get out and explore this beautiful area of Spain this is a perfect choice, we cant wait to return.

A Fabulous Two Weeks

Our family of Dad, Mum, 2 children aged 5 and 3 and 1 set of grandparents had a fabulous 2 weeks staying in this apartment. It was beautifully put together with stylish furnishings and lovely and clean. Everything was new so all in excellent condition. The three bedrooms were adequately sized and two had a view over the sea. The pool was a hit with the children and adults, very clean and big enough to have a sensible swim. The surrounding area had a good selection of beaches, some sandy some with coarse sand. Most beaches had basic cafe facilities and the water was clean and safe. We travelled to Tarifa beach which was beautiful but with rougher sea. Ceasares was a pretty village worth a visit as long as you don't mind the climb. Estepona had a good Carrefour but there were a couple of decent supermarkets within 5 minutes drive. Local restaurants were good, the highly recommended ones mentioned at the apartment need booking in advance in busy season. We would definitely go back.

My husband and I had a great 10 days in this fantastic apartment. Its very well appointed with lovely sea views. The apartment is furnished to a very high standard with flexible sleeping layout. The on suite bathroom with jacuzzi was a real treat. The views from two of the double bedrooms is stunning. Nearby beaches are unspoilt and suitable for adults and children alike. Many good restaurants within easy reach. Location is ideal to explore both the coast and countryside. For those of us who like to shop Puerto Banus fulfilled all my expectations!

Wonderful time in Spain

We had a lovely week in August in Spain this year. The apartment is beautiful - a real home from home. Everything had been thought of. The apartment is really well appointed and it was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the kids in the pool. The development is quite high up and is quite windy but the breeze was really welcome as the weather was so hot!!!! Gibraltar is only about 30 minutes away and is well worth a visit. We had some fantastic meals too at both the beach bars and restaurants nearby. Can't wait to go again. Carlton, Dawn and Stevie
